A sweet win for tiny rural school
Congratulations to St Bartholomew’s CE Primary School in Longnor, who have won our 2020-21 Green Schools Trophy plus £50 to put towards their conservation work. The children at this small rural school make honey from their own beehives and learn about how pollination is a vital part of both food production and ecology.
Normally our chairman Mary Booth would give a talk to the children and have a look around, but that isn’t possible at the moment due to covid. Hopefully we will be able to visit the junior beekeepers at some point next year to congratulate them in person.
Thank you to all the schools who entered in this difficult year – it was difficult to pick a winner!
