Green Schools Trophy

Children from Burton Fields School, the winners of the 2023 trophy

Every year we invite Staffordshire schools to showcase their conservation and environmental projects for a chance to win £100 cash and hold the CPRE Green Schools’ Trophy for a year.

We’re on the lookout for inspiring projects that help make the local environment a better place. This could be through cutting down on single-use plastics, practical conservation work, creating wildlife habitats, promoting energy-saving or waste reduction/recycling, green transport schemes, or any other original idea your school may come up with.

The winning school for 2024 is St John’s Primary Academy in Stafford, who are working hard to engage all pupils with nature and the benefits of being outside. Last year’s winners were Burton Fields School, who have improved a pond, made bug hotels, installed bug houses, composted waste, created a bog garden, log piles and a bird feeding station and planted a wildflower meadow…the list goes on! They have also planted more than 100 trees.
